These pixels then produce images that can be transmitted to our brains.

Lenticular Lens Technology makes use of lenticular lenses that are built on the display monitor, so glasses are no longer needed. These lenses, which look like fried eggs, bend the left and right images that are produced. This technology allows the watcher a broader view of the image.
This technology works by utilizing a webcam that locks on to a spectator’s eyes and adapts the images sent by using a webcam that locks on to a viewers eyes and adjusts the images transmitted from the display as the spectator shifts his head so they see in 3D. This is much like the headset used in movies like “Virtual Reality”. When the spectator moves, the image moves too, tricking the brain that there is dimension behind the screen.
The Three Dimensional TV Box
This is a new discovery in 3D TV without glasses technology. This operates by taking an average three-dimensional image and sending it into the 3D TV Box to be displayed. The 3D TV Box takes the image and projects it on to the TV monitor at the same dimension you see when using 3D glasses on most 3D sets, and can take subject the various services that have streaming 3D content solutions.

Powermat – How Does the Powermat Wireless Charger Work?

PowerMat is an exciting new wireless charging technology. It was first demonstrated in 2008 and early 2009 and is now available to buy for the home and office.

So what is PowerMat? It is a small device that uses wireless charging to charge your most important gadgets like cellphones (including the iPhone and Blackberry), video games (including the Nintendo DS), and iPod without you having to connect them to a charger or plug them into the wall. The PowerMat itself is, of course, plugged into the wall and connected to mains electricity by a wire, but from then on everything is wireless. You drop your device onto the PowerMat and it gets charged wirelessly, without you having to do anything.

So how does PowerMat wireless charging work?

The technology behind PowerMat is known as ‘electromagnetic induction’ (or just ‘magnetic induction’). Michael Faraday is generally credited with the discovery of the induction phenomenon in 1831 though others were working in the same field at the time.

This electromagnetic induction is officially defined as “the production of voltage across a conductor situated in a changing magnetic field or a conductor moving through a stationary magnetic field” but that does not mean very much to most people. A better way to put it is that it is a means to transfer electrical power using a shared magnetic field.

Consider this arrangement:

1. Put electrical power into a coil of wire

2. This will produce a magnetic field around the coil that affects any metal within the field (as demonstrated by Faraday)

3. Change the field quickly over time and an electric current will be generated in the metal

So what is happening when a PowerMat is charging is that it is generating rapidly changing magnetic fields above the mat; these are converted by receivers on any devices on the mat into electrical power, and so these devices get charged. The magnetic fields and electrical currents are, of course, very small and so they can work on handheld gadgets without being a health risk to humans.

The same technology is used in a huge number of other devices and systems including generators, motors, transformers, some cookers, induction welding, and so on. Perhaps to most people the best known example is in rechargeable electric toothbrushes, where they are familiar with dropping a toothbrush into a ‘dock’ daily to keep it charged. However they may be unaware that similar systems are also operating in electric guitar pickups, video tape players, and computer graphics tablets.

PowerMat is currently the best known example of a wireless charger but this technology is developing rapidly and soon we will see it in many other applications and products. The PowerMat company itself is planning to extend the technology and feature it in kitchen counters, walls, and other surfaces around the home. What We Would Like To Expect in the PS4

As the title indicates, this article is about the new gaming console that is starting to get a lot of buzz on the highly anticipated PlayStation 4 and what features it is most likely to have and also a closer look at when it might be getting released.

After a bit of a rough start, the PlayStation 3 has established itself as a fine gaming console, providing a top-end Blu-ray player, adding as a powerful media hub and of-course offering cutting edge gaming, but as the PS3 entering it’s last few years of it’s cycle, attention has turned to what the next generation PlayStation will bring to the table. We have compiled a wish list of what we would like to see in the next gen console, the PS4.

The first one is not so much what it will add, but what features we would like to see get carried over from the PS3. That being said, we would like the PS4 to continue being a Blu-Ray player and continue being an on-demand video player from hosts like YouTube to keep it busy under our TVs.

We would also like the PS4 to be more powerful than it’s predecessor, we expect the PS4 to bring the latest graphics technology and unparalleled sound and even better 3D functionality to accommodate the newest 3d TV and all the other benefits that will come with an even more powerful chip processor.

Although the PlayStation Network has been a big hit, the Xbox has had an edge in terms of community so we would like to see the PS4 step it up in that department and figure out the secret recipe in this department that has been working so well for the Xbox.

Although we’re expecting some neat new tricks from the PlayStation Vita, which should have been around for a while by the time it acquires a new big brother. We want Sony to take a good look at how it’s going to make it’s gaming experience more portable with the release of the PS4. We want to see portable data and gaming and an adequate link up with phones, tablets, and laptops.

There is a large back-catalog of games that we love to play on the PS1, PS2 & PS3 and would love to be able to play those games from time to time on the new PlayStation 4, that is why backward compatibility would be desirable.…

The Coming Revolution

There will be a worldwide revolution in your lifetime. It is one that will shake the foundations of society as we know it. In fact, it has, without much notice, already begun. And its name is 3D Printing. What? 3D Printing you say? Ridiculous. Surely you jest. How can something as trivial as printing change my life? And yet it will; dramatically so.
The basics
Through several different technologies 3D printers can print just about anything. Instead of the old printing as you know it, 3D printers can create solid objects from a digital model. These printers can create an object by laying down successive layers of materials – millions of them. The materials are fused with a laser. The printer adds successive layers of material until you have a model of what you are trying to create. The model can be very detailed and precise. But the real revolutionary aspect of this technology is in the hundreds of materials one can use to create. To date, they include plastics, aluminum, titanium steel, food (yes food) and even biological cells.
What we can do now
Companies such as Concord and Boeing are already using 3-D printing to create certain airplane parts. Lockheed developed a similar process to create an airplane wing at substantially less time and cost. Even now industry is printing auto parts (including some near complete cars), furniture, clothing, tools, buildings and much more. A few examples are as follows:
The UK University of Southampton recently designed and printed the SULSA unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). It has a wingspan of two meters and can travel at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Others are also printing small UAVs for atmospheric research. Because these planes are printed with embeded electronics and moving parts, designers can create shapes and structures at a fraction of the cost of traditional manufacturing.
Italian inventor Enrico Dini created a 3D printer that uses a magnesium based material to bind sand particles together creating sedimentary stone in a matter of minutes. Nature’s process takes hundreds of years. Stone can easily be molded to specific shapes avoiding the need to cut. Mr. Dini can construct a building four times faster than conventional means at less than half the cost.
3D printing is used to make reverse copies of limbs for prosthetic devices. So if a person suffers the loss of a limb, a near exact copy can be made as a replacement. In fact, 3D printing is used to make many bone replacements including jawbones and hips. The laser imaging process ensures that the replacement part has all the same articulated joints and groves needed for tendons, nerves, and veins.
How about clothes? No problem. 3D printing has recently been used by the fashion industry to create everything from bikini’s to Lady Gaga’s dresses (those are strange). But the point is that nylon can be molded into minuscule threads and shaped in any fashion. Eventually the printing process could customize clothes by using a body scan to create an exact fit for the customer.
Are you hungry? 3-D printing takes foods like chocolate, cheese, ground turkey and celery and makes them into new and exciting shapes. A food printer developed by Cornell University students uses softer foods which can be poured into a print head and then pumped out via syringe to form intricate design. Future prospects for food printing are even better.
The Coming Revolution
Amazing things are happening as we enter the cusp of this coming revolution. Even more exciting revolutionary changes are on the horizon.
If you can print jawbones, hips, and car parts; why stop there? How about food? Food is made up of carbons, fats, and fibers. It can, therefore, be printed. Dutch scientist Dr. Kjeld vanBommel gave a talk at TED detailing processes for printing food that could be customized for specific diets. There will come a time in the not too distant future when one can program a home food printer to print a healthy (or not) diet individually customized for each member of the family, or starving village.
But food is only one small part of the revolution. Researchers at Germany’s Fraunhofer Institute have begun printing blood vessels. They have printed artificial biological molecules that are formed with a laser into the shape of actual capillaries and veins. So the question comes, If you can do capillaries and veins can you print something really cool, like an actual human organ? Well, it looks like the answer will be yes.
